The SHPEtinas program accelerates and affirms Latina representation at all levels of STEM corporate and academic leadership. Encouraging Latinas to pursue higher education and careers in STEM recognizes the unique perspective they bring to solving the world's most pressing problems while creating new, influential role models for future leaders.

Meetings

SHPEtinas is intended to build a community that empowers Latinas. This group has created an environment full of encouragement and is a reminder that we are not going through it alone. In our meetings we will cover topics such as the importance of representation being a leader, imposter syndrome, mental health, self-care, gender bias, and discrimination amongst other things. We will have women come in and speak about their experiences in the professional/educational world and students will be given the opportunity to network and connect with said professionals. Our social events will be more geared towards forming special bonds with other Latinas in STEM while having fun. We will do this through movie nights, game nights, study nights, and casual socials.
